Why no full station consultations?

Read the original letter.

Dear Editor:

Re: Cameron station is needed, Letters to the editor, Burnaby NOW, Nov. 10

Evergreen Line’s broken promise with respect to Burnaby’s Cameron Street is no surprise to Port Moody residents who were promised a station near the Barnet Highway, one of 12 when the original light-rail system was planned.

Dropping the Cameron station in Burnaby, despite high density development around it, is inexplicable. The Evergreen Line’s alternative to a western station in Port Moody is also inexplicable.

So why wasn’t there a full public consultation on the most important issue to locals: station locations?

This is why Port Coquitlam citizens are also so incensed and want to know who made these multimillion-dollar decisions arbitrarily without consultation.
