City of Port Moody – Official Community Plan (OCP)

Evergreen Line is now looking to Port Moody city, its council and residents to create sufficient flexibility in future land uses around a western station to encourage transit-oriented development and ridership.

The City needs to abandon its ‘no growth’ policy and dispense with excuses for continued inactivity. The Evergreen Line will be built, with or without encouraging land use policy at the municipal level. Council has the opportunity to show some leadership by implementing progressive land use planning that promotes sustainable transit-oriented and mixed use development. Their support for the business case is necessary to facilitate a third station in Western Port Moody, and we all reap the considerable benefits that will invariably occur.

Mayor and Council must take immediate action on land use planning to capitalize on the multitude of benefits and opportunities that the Evergreen Line affords residents and businesses within the City of Port Moody.
