Evergreen Line Company Summary
The December 2009 Evergreen Line Rapid Transit Project, Preliminary Design Consultation, Summary Report describes the third of five rounds of public consultation planned for the Evergreen Line.
The local level of participation in the preliminary design consultation was extraordinarily high with 35% of total respondents throughout Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and elsewhere identifying themselves as residents of Port Moody. The report evidences broad based public support for maximizing the local benefits that might be achieved from a third Evergreen Line station in Port Moody for residents and businesses alike.
Among the key findings:
Information about the route alignment and station locations is one of the top issues. Within this context, the overwhelming majority of support was for an additional station to be located in the western end of Port Moody. Public support for a third station in Western Port Moody was also a strong recurring theme noted at two open houses held in Port Moody during October of 2009.
